Registered Nurse (RN) – Oncology Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in the Oncology Unit. The registered nurse will work night shifts and will be responsible for managing patient care and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal outcomes. General Information • Unit Name: 2 North Oncology • Number of Beds: 24 • Patient Ratios: 5-6 patients per nurse • Unit Staffing: • 2 Patient Care Technicians per shift • 1 Unit Secretary during day shifts • Documentation System: Meditech • Scheduling Requirements: Must work 4 weekend days (Saturday and Sunday) • Floating Policy: As needed Unit Specifics This unit administers chemotherapy and emphasizes a positive patient experience. Key patient care strategies include: • Use of whiteboards for patient updates • Conducting bedside shift reports • Hourly safety rounds • Implementing key words to enhance communication Qualifications • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a Medical/Surgical background • Cultural Fit: Candidates should be passionate about patient care and willing to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
