“`html Emergency Room Nurse (RN) Unit Information Location: Salem, VA Number of Beds: 27 Number of Staff: 50 RNs / 25 Medics Shift Information • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 5 RNs, 2-3 medics; staffing increases by 4-5 RNs at 11 AM and by 1-2 RNs at 3 PM • Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 5 RNs, 2-3 medics Patient Ratios 4-6 patients per nurse Equipment Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Meditech Qualifications • Required: • Completion of 2-3 travel assignments • 2-3 years of experience in an Emergency Room setting • Preferred: • Experience in high acuity emergency departments • Experience in fast-paced environments with high patient volume • Experience with patient ratios of 5:1 Typical Procedures Performed • Rapid Sequence Intubation (RSI) • Sepsis interventions • Stroke protocol with tPA administration • Central line placement • Care of psychiatric patients • Transfers to other facilities (EMTALA) Personality Fit Relaxed, easy-going, friendly, team-oriented, and respectful individuals are encouraged to apply.
