Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Information Location: Roanoke, VA • Number of Beds: 8 • Number of Staff: 23 RNs • Patient Ratios: 1:4 Shift Details Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM Equipment Used • GE Monitors • Nurse Call System • Small Ventilator • Baxter Pumps • Zoll Defibrillators Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech Qualifications Required Skills • Independent IV skills • EKG skills • Assessment skills • Previous Emergency Room experience Preferred Skills • Experience in a Freestanding Emergency Department • Independent mixing of pharmacy drugs such as TPA, KCentra Typical Procedures • Performing IV placements • Conducting EKGs • Mixing medications • Scanning medications for all patients Personality Fit Ideal candidates should be team players, outgoing, and able to work independently. Required Certifications • ACLS • PALS • BLS Unit Policies • Holidays: Required to work on holidays • Weekends: Rotating weekends with three weekend shifts (Fridays and Saturdays) every four weeks Experience Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required.
