Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Unit Information Location: Salem, VA Floor: 2nd Floor Building: Main Unit Overview • Number of Beds: 2 Operating Room suites • Number of Staff: 6 (3 RNs, 3 CSTs) • Staff Type: All staff work day shifts • Patient Ratios: 1:1 • EMR: Meditech Typical Responsibilities The role involves supporting surgical procedures including: • Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) • Thoracotomy • Endovascular Aortic Aneurysm Repair (Endo AAA) • Valve Replacement • Pacemaker Insertion Required Qualifications • Must Have: • ACLS & BLS certification • Experience in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) • Preferred: • Experience in scrubbing Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will possess the following traits: • Flexible and adaptable • Knowledgeable in surgical procedures • Self-starter with strong initiative Floating Areas Responsibilities may require floating to other Operating Room areas. Dress Code Scrub attire will be light blue and provided by the facility. Schedule Weekday, weekend, and holiday call may be required. Experience Minimum of 2 years of experience is preferred.
