Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry Unit Information Location: Independence, MO Unit: 7N Cardiac Telemetry • Number of Beds: 36 • Number of Staff: 70 • Patient Ratios: 4 to 5:1 • Type of Equipment: Pyxis, Alaris pumps, Welch Allen Vitals machines • Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech Job Overview This position provides nursing care for patients in a fast-paced cardiac telemetry unit. The ideal candidate should possess a strong sense of teamwork and be able to thrive in a high-energy environment. Key Responsibilities • Monitor and care for patients with cardiac issues and telemetry needs. • Manage medications and intravenous therapies, including amiodarone and Cardizem drips. • Provide high-quality nursing care to post-cath and stroke patients. Qualifications • Required Certifications: • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a telemetry or similar acute care setting. • Preferred Skills: • Experience recovering post-cath patients (no sheath removal). • Experience with pacemaker placements. • NIH Stroke Scale certification is a plus. Work Schedule • Full-time position with 48 hours guaranteed as an option. • Three weekend shifts in a four-week schedule, including Friday and Saturday nights or Saturday and Sunday days. Dress Code Grey scrubs are required for registered nurses. Floating Areas May include other telemetry departments, medical-surgical units, and progressive care units.
