Travel Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Travel Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract. This position requires working in a fast-paced unit with a focus on clear communication skills and the ability to care for a variety of patient diagnoses. Key Responsibilities • Provide high-quality patient care in the Med/Surg Tele unit. • Manage a patient ratio of 1:6. • Oversee care for multiple types of diagnoses. • Utilize Cerner EMR for patient documentation and care management. • Perform essential nursing skills, including IV starts, NG tube placements, and Foley catheter insertions. • Care for patients requiring continuous bladder irrigation. Position Details • Location: Dupont Hospital, IN • Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM • Floating required: Yes • Block scheduling options available • No on-call requirements Requirements • Current RN licensure in Indiana. • Certifications: BLS and ACLS required. • A minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg Tele nursing experience. • Skills in starting IVs, placing NG tubes, and inserting Foley catheters. Work Environment The unit comprises 25 beds along with a 12-bed overflow unit, ensuring adequate patient management capabilities. Nurses are expected to adapt to the dynamic nature of the unit while maintaining a commitment to patient care excellence.
