Orthopedic Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Information Location: Englewood, CO Floor: 7 NW Tower Building: Main Hospital General Information Unit Overview The Orthopedic unit features: • Number of Beds: 30 • Staffing: 1 Charge RN, 4-6 Bedside RNs, 2-4 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) • Patient Ratios: 1:5 or 1:6 • Type of Equipment: Continuous Passive Motion machines for specialty surgeries, nerve block pumps, On-Q balls • Electronic Medical Records: Meditech Typical Procedures Common procedures performed on the unit include: • IV starts • Foley and straight catheterization • CPM application and early mobilization Qualifications Required Skills • Minimum 1 year of experience as an Orthopedic RN in an acute care hospital • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Preferred Skills • Medical/Surgical experience • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification • Experience with Meditech EMR Personality Fit • Positive attitude • Team player Work Environment This unit promotes a collaborative atmosphere with a dedicated nursing team focused on enhancing patient experience and achieving quality outcomes.
