Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Information This role is situated in a Level II Trauma Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. • Number of Beds: 15 • Staffing: 38 staff members • Patient Ratios: 2:1 • Type of Equipment: General CR Monitoring • Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech / CPN General Information The team consists of an Intensivist, RNs, Desk Techs, Respiratory Therapists (RT), and Case Management during day shifts, with an on-call Intensivist, RNs, and RTs for night shifts. Qualifications Required: • Minimum of 1 year of current acute care hospital PICU RN experience • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification Preferred: • Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) • Certification in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Nursing (APHON) • Experience in a Pediatric Teaching Hospital Typical Procedures Performed • IV starts and blood draws • Thoracentesis (TPT) placements Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is one who thrives under pressure, effectively manages patient care, and is dedicated to working within a teaching hospital environment.
