The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. Unit Specifics • Number of Beds: 10 • Patient Ratios: 2:1, 3:1 • Available Staff: Clinical Nurse Coordinators (CNC), RNs, Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), Nurse Externs • Type of Equipment: Philips Telemetry, Baxter pumps, iMobile, Ventilators, glucometer • Documentation System: Meditech Expanse • Scheduling Requirements: Every other weekend, three 12-hour shifts • Floating Policy: May float to Progressive Care Unit (PCU), 3rd floor, or Emergency Department (ED) Qualifications • Minimum of 2 years experience in an ICU setting • Active nursing license in good standing (KY/Compact license) • BLS and ACLS certifications are required Required Skills • CPAP and BiPAP management • Port access and therapeutic phlebotomy • Preferred experience with: chest tubes, NG tubes, wound vacs, drains, post-dialysis assessments, central lines, blood transfusions, ventilators Procedures Performed on Unit • Telemetry monitoring • Paracentesis (physician led) • BiPAP • Therapeutic phlebotomy Additional Information The unit is home to several travelers who have extended their contracts due to excellent teamwork and supportive staff.
