Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Information Location: Independence, MO Floor: First Building: Main General Information This position is within the Emergency Department, which features the following: • Number of Beds: 40+ • Number of Staff: 120+ • Day Shift Staff: CNC, Team leads, RNs, Advanced Paramedics, ED Technicians, Mental Health Specialists, Secretaries • Night Shift Staff: CNC, Team leads, RNs, Advanced Paramedics, ED Technicians, Mental Health Specialists, Secretaries • Patient Ratios: 4:1 (3 rooms and 1 hall bed during high volume) • Type of Equipment: Cardiac monitors, EKGs, Ultrasound, Belmont Rapid Infuser, IO Drills, Lifepak, and more • EMR: Meditech Typical Hiring Profile The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience: • Required Skills: • Adaptability • Team player • Preferred Skills: • Experience in high-pressure environments • Previous medical experience (RN, Medic, Technician, etc.) • Typical Procedures Performed: • IV starts and phlebotomy • Cardiac monitoring and interpretation • Best Personality Fit: Outgoing and positive under pressure Required Certifications • BLS • ACLS • TNCC • ENPC • CPI for RN • BLS • ACLS • PALS • CPI for Medic • BLS, CPI for all staff Dress Code • RN: Gray scrub top, black or gray scrub bottoms • Medic: Gray scrub top, black or gray scrub bottoms • EDT/Secretary: Caribbean blue scrub top, Caribbean blue or black scrub bottoms Appropriate colored t-shirts are permitted under a nursing scrub jacket or hospital-approved jacket.
