The role involves collaborating with an interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment, providing care for patients with conditions such as stroke, epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, and Guillain-Barré Syndrome. Facility Overview As a Joint Commission accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center and the only Level 4 Epilepsy Monitoring Unit in the region, the unit sees a wide range of acute and complex patients. The team works diligently to evaluate, diagnose, and treat seizures using state-of-the-art continuous video EEG technology, ensuring the highest standard of patient care. Responsibilities • Provide direct nursing care to patients in a specialized neurological unit. • Utilize critical thinking skills to assess and manage patient conditions effectively. • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient-centered care plans. • Monitor patients’ telemetry and neurological status, ensuring timely interventions. • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and health management. Qualifications • Current RN License in New York. • Two years of nursing experience required, with telemetry experience essential. • BLS certification. • NIHSS certification.
