Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Unit Information Location: Alexandria, LA Unit Type: Trauma/Ortho/Med-Surg • Number of Beds: 36 • Number of Staff: 49 • Patient Ratios: Nurse/Patient = 6:1 Shifts and Staffing • Day Shift: 1 Charge, 3 RNs, 3 LPNs, 3 PCTs, 1 Secretary • Night Shift: 1 Charge, 3 RNs, 3 LPNs, 3 PCTs Equipment The unit is equipped with: • IV Pumps • Wound Vacs • SCD Pumps • Kangaroo Pumps • Chest Tubes • Telemetry • PCA Pumps • Bipaps • Epidurals Qualifications Required Certifications: • Active Nursing License • ACLS • BLS Essential Skills Must Have: • Med-Surg Experience • Ability to Collaborate as a Team Player • Critical Thinking Skills Preferred Skills: • Prioritization Skills • Time Management Skills Typical Procedures Performed • Wound Vac Changes • Wound Care • IV Insertions • Insertion of Indwelling Foley Catheters Work Environment The ideal candidate will be willing to work as part of a team. Every other weekend shifts are required. Floating Areas Potential floating may include areas 6A, 3A, 3 South, and 4 South. Dress Code Ceil Blue scrubs are required.
