Registered Nurse (RN) Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Medical Surgical unit. This position will focus on providing exceptional care to patients recovering from various surgical procedures and medical conditions. Unit Information • Unit Type: Medical Surgical • Number of Beds: 30 • Nurse:Patient Ratios: • Days: 1 RN to 4-5 Patients • Nights: 1 RN to 5-6 Patients • Common Patient Diagnoses: • Total joint replacements • Spinal surgeries • Urology procedures • Abdominal surgeries (e.g., laparoscopic appendectomy, bowel resection) • Bariatric surgeries • Medical overflow cases • Management of hemo hemovacs and JP drains • Colostomy care Responsibilities • Provide high-quality nursing care to surgical and medical patients. • Assist with early ambulation post-operatively. • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes. • Participate in bedside shift report. • Float to medical and telemetry units as needed. Qualifications • Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience. • Required Certifications: • BLS Certification • Preferred Skills: • Surgical and post-operative care experience. • Ability to work collaboratively and adapt in a fast-paced environment. Work Schedule • Shift Length: 12 hours • Scheduled Hours: 36 hours per week • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend • Holiday Requirement: As needed Additional Information • Dress Code: Scrub color is not specified; any color is permitted. • Team Environment: We maintain a close-knit and supportive culture within the unit.
