Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist Shift Information Days Minimum Years of Experience 3.0 Certifications/Requirements • General Certifications: BLS/BCLS, ACLS • Allied Health Certifications: ARRT Job Description The Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist will be responsible for performing duties associated with both the Cardiac Cath Lab and Special Procedures Lab. This role requires technical expertise in operating X-ray equipment, scrubbing for procedures, and ensuring a high standard of care for patients. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Support and promote the mission and values of the organization. • Scrub in for Cardiac Cath Lab and Special Procedures. • Prepare and manage heart catheters for procedures. • Evaluate images to ensure quality for diagnostic purposes. • Perform radiographic special procedures using department-recommended equipment. • Maintain procedural areas, ensuring cleanliness and organization. • Complete assigned examinations within established timeframes. • Report to duty on time, dressed appropriately for patient care. • Review requisitions for essential information and requests. • Position and prepare patients, setting up equipment for procedures. • Scrub and assist physician during diagnostic and interventional procedures. • Report any unusual reactions or conditions to nursing staff. • Adjust information delivery based on patient and organizational needs. • Exhibit flexibility in rotating among various shifts or departments as needed. • Perform other duties consistent with the role as assigned. Job Requirements Job Knowledge and Skills • Ability to effectively communicate and include patients in their care. • Competency in procedures such as Balloon Pump and Impella. Education and Experience • Current NH ARRT license required. • BLS certification required. • ACLS certification required. • Completion of a certificate or degree course in radiologic technology. • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in place of formal education.
