PACU Registered Nurse (RN) Position Overview This position involves working as a Registered Nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The role requires flexibility, as the nurse will be responsible for rotating shifts, working days, weekends, and being on-call as needed. Unit Information Details regarding the PACU unit are as follows: • Number of Beds: 10 bays • Staff: 13 Registered Nurses • Day Shift: Varies based on scheduled procedures, typically 6-8 RNs • Night Shift: 24-hour call coverage with standard call hours from 9:30 PM to 7:30 AM, Monday to Friday, and all-day coverage on weekends • Patient Ratios: Adheres to CPAN guidelines • Equipment: GE patient monitors, Stryker and Hillrom beds • EMR: Expanse Qualifications Applicants should meet the following requirements: • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a hospital setting required • Licensure: Active state nursing license required • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required Preferred Skills While not mandatory, the following skills are advantageous: • PACU experience at Level II or higher • ICU experience • Emergency Room (ER) experience • CPAN certification Responsibilities Nurses in the PACU will care for a diverse patient population, including pediatrics and adults, handling a range of surgical procedures.
