Registered Nurse (RN) – PCU Unit Information The PCU unit is a fast-paced and challenging environment specializing in cardiac care, accommodating a high acuity patient population. • Number of Beds: 20 • Number of Staff: 40 • Staff Composition: RNs and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) • Patient Ratios: 1:4 Daily Staffing Structure • Day Shift: 1 Charge RN, 5 Nurses, 3 PCTs • Night Shift: 1 Charge RN, 5 Nurses, 2 PCTs Equipment and Technology • Tele and Transport Monitors • Suction Devices • Feeding Pumps • Tracheostomy Care • Bipap and Cpap Machines • Heated High-Flow Oxygen • Chest Tubes • Foley Catheters • Pacer Wires/Pacers • IV Pumps • SCD Pumps Qualifications Required Skills • Minimum 1 year of current PCU experience • Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Certification Preferred Skills • Extensive Neuro Experience • Cardiac Experience Typical Procedures Performed • Chest Tube Placement and Removal • Removal of Pacer Wires • 12-lead EKGs • Administration of Drips such as Heparin, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, and Nitro Ideal Candidate Profile • Strong team player • High energy and adaptability Why Choose This Unit?
