Certified Nurse Midwife
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and certified Nurse Midwife for a 12-week in-house contract position, with the possibility of extension based on operational needs. The role involves performing deliveries and providing comprehensive care to expecting mothers.
Responsibilities
• Triage patients and conduct admissions.
• Assist and manage uncomplicated vaginal deliveries.
• Discharge patients who have not undergone a cesarean section.
• Consult with physicians on high-risk or complicated cases.
• Participate in operative deliveries and rounding on patients as needed.
• Provide potential opportunities to see patients in a Women’s Clinic, though this is not the primary focus.
• Utilize a designated call room during shifts.
Work Schedule
The position typically requires 7 shifts of 24 hours each per month. While some shifts may fall on weekends, there may be coverage by locums or full-time family practice providers, resulting in varied weekend commitments. Post-call time off is guaranteed.
Qualifications
• Certification in AMCB (American Midwifery Certification Board), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and OBDNN (Obstetric and Neonatal Nursing).
• Valid license and DEA registration, specific to the relevant state.
• Experience in triaging and delivering babies in various settings including birthing centers, home births, or hospital environments.
• Ability to provide emotional support and education on antenatal care and reproductive health.
Anticipated Patient Volume
The current workload involves approximately 5-6 births per day, with expectations for growth as a new facility opens in the coming months.
We look forward to receiving applications from qualified candidates who are passionate about midwifery and providing high-quality maternal care.
