This is an opportunity to join an organization that is expanding its U.S. sales presence and investing in additional resources to support its customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and growing relationships throughout California while helping expand the company’s presence in the veterinary market. Our client is looking for someone who has a genuine passion for the veterinary profession and enjoys building relationships with veterinarians and veterinary teams. Veterinary or Animal Health sales experience would be valuable, but our client is also open to considering an outstanding veterinary professional who has worked in a clinical environment and has the personality, drive, and relationship-building skills to transition into a sales career. The Territory This position covers California. Candidates should reside in California and be comfortable with significant travel throughout the territory. This is a true field sales position, with approximately 3–4 days of travel per week, along with occasional weekend travel for conferences, trade shows, educational programs, and other industry events. Some of these events take place on weekends. The Opportunity The Veterinary Sales Representative will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with veterinary practices throughout California. You will manage customer relationships while identifying opportunities to expand existing business and develop new accounts. You will spend significant time in veterinary practices working directly with veterinarians and veterinary teams, understanding their needs, educating them about the company’s products and solutions, and serving as a trusted resource. This position will also participate in industry conferences, trade shows, hands-on educational programs, and other customer events. Key responsibilities include: • Managing and growing the California territory • Developing strong relationships with veterinary practices and veterinary professionals • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities • Meeting quarterly and annual sales objectives • Educating customers about products and solutions • Conducting regular customer visits throughout California • Participating in trade shows, conferences, educational programs, and customer events • Maintaining accurate records of leads, opportunities, and customer interactions • Coordinating with internal teams to provide outstanding customer support Who We’re Looking For The most important qualification is a genuine interest in and passion for the veterinary profession. Our client is interested in candidates from several backgrounds, including: • Veterinary or Animal Health sales professionals • Veterinary equipment, pharmaceutical, diagnostics, or related industry sales professionals • Veterinary technicians and other veterinary clinical professionals interested in transitioning into sales • Sales professionals with experience calling on veterinary practices The ideal candidate will be personable, credible, self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently in a field-based sales role. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills are essential. Candidates should also be comfortable presenting and educating customers and have the ability to understand technical product information and communicate its value effectively. A bachelor’s degree and previous sales experience are preferred but may not be required for an exceptional candidate with relevant veterinary experience. Compensation & Benefits The anticipated base salary is $75,000–$90,000, depending upon experience and qualifications. The position also offers an annual performance-based bonus opportunity of approximately $10,000–$20,000, with first-year total compensation anticipated to be up to approximately $100,000. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, vision, and dental insurance, a 401(k) program, paid vacation and sick leave, and paid holidays. Business mileage is reimbursed according to company policy. Why Consider This Opportunity? This is an opportunity to join a company that is growing and expanding its U.S. sales organization. The organization is investing in greater territory coverage and customer support, creating an opportunity for the successful candidate to take ownership of the California market and help grow the company’s presence throughout the state. For someone who enjoys the veterinary profession, this position offers the opportunity to combine relationship building, education, customer support, and sales in a highly visible field-based role.
