Civil Defense Litigation Attorney | Boston, MA An attorney with civil litigation experience is sought for a Boston opportunity focused on civil defense litigation. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of experience, although both more junior and more senior candidates will be considered. Defense litigation experience is strongly preferred, and experience representing corporations, businesses, professionals, insurers, or self-insured entities is highly desirable. The role provides substantial hands-on responsibility across the litigation lifecycle. Responsibilities include managing matters from inception through resolution, drafting and responding to written discovery, preparing and arguing motions, taking and defending depositions, negotiating settlements, communicating directly with clients, and preparing matters for mediation and trial. The attorney may serve as first or second chair at trial when appropriate. The practice includes civil defense litigation with approximately 50% tort litigation, including product liability, motor vehicle litigation, premises liability, insurance defense, and general civil litigation.
