The role serves as the technical-operational bridge among Product Management, Engineering, Field Service, Operations, Sales, and customers. It translates operating requirements into safe, executable deployment plans; leads field readiness, troubleshooting, testing, training, and technical handoffs; and converts field performance and customer feedback into prioritized product and process improvements. Through approximately 50% field and customer travel, the position strengthens execution ownership, product reliability, service quality, customer readiness, and scalable commercial growth. This is a senior individual-contributor role with functional leadership responsibility and no direct reports. Technical Operations Leadership & Customer Solutions Primary Skills: Technical Leadership • Solution Consulting • Customer Support • Cross-functional Coordination • Lead technical-operational planning and execution for PowerTAP, Illumic, and related Energy Solutions product deployments, upgrades, field trials, and lifecycle support. • Serve as the primary technical-operations contact for customers, Product Management, Engineering, Sales, Field Service, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain during field execution. • Translate customer operating conditions, rig interfaces, electrical requirements, site constraints, and product limitations into practical deployment and support recommendations. • Provide functional direction to internal and third-party field resources during assigned deployments, troubleshooting activities, commissioning, and operational handoffs without direct supervisory authority. Field Deployment, Commissioning & Troubleshooting Primary Skills: Equipment Installation • Electrical Systems • System Testing • Technical Support • Lead site assessments, application reviews, configuration verification, installation readiness, energization planning, commissioning, and acceptance activities. • Lead on-site and remote troubleshooting of electrical, controls, communications, integration, and product-application issues; coordinate Engineering escalation and verify sustainable closure. • Develop or review commissioning checklists, test plans, acceptance criteria, field evidence, punch lists, and technical handoff packages. • Confirm that assigned work is executed in accordance with approved technical documentation, customer requirements, and applicable site-safety expectations; stop or escalate work when conditions are not acceptable. Training, Documentation & Lifecycle Support Primary Skills: Employee Training • Customer Onboarding • Project Documentation • Product Support • Develop and deliver role-appropriate training for customers, field technicians, service teams, sales partners, and internal stakeholders on product operation, safe work practices, troubleshooting, and new capabilities. • Lead customer onboarding and post-deployment follow-up to confirm user readiness, support ownership, documentation completion, and closure of open technical items. • Create and maintain application guides, installation and commissioning instructions, troubleshooting procedures, technical bulletins, training content, and customer-facing technical documentation. • Mentor less experienced engineers, coordinators, and field personnel through structured knowledge transfer, field coaching, and technical review. Operational Readiness, Performance & Product Improvement Primary Skills: Requirements Management • Performance Analysis • Business Process Management • Data Management • Assess fleet and site readiness, identify deployment risks and dependencies, and communicate required actions, owners, and due dates before mobilization or operational handoff. • Analyze service history, product usage, issue trends, field observations, customer feedback, and operating data to identify recurring risks, adoption barriers, and improvement priorities. • Elicit, document, validate, and prioritize field, customer, service, and business requirements for product enhancements, workflows, reporting, and support processes. • Maintain traceable technical decisions, requirements, test evidence, lessons learned, action items, and improvement recommendations; communicate status, risks, and business impact to accountable stakeholders. Required • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a closely related technical field, or equivalent directly relevant experience. • 8+ years of progressive experience in field engineering, applications engineering, electrical or controls systems, technical service, product support, commissioning, or a closely related industrial technology role. • Demonstrated experience leading complex field execution, technical troubleshooting, deployment planning, system testing, technical documentation, and customer communication. • Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems, power distribution, controls, communications, technical drawings, installation, commissioning, and safe field execution. • Ability to translate customer and operational needs into clear technical requirements, deployment plans, test criteria, training, and prioritized product or process recommendations. • Demonstrated ability to provide functional leadership across teams and field resources without relying on direct reporting authority. • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50%, including domestic and international customer, field, manufacturing, and business locations as required. • Valid driver license and ability to meet customer-site access and travel requirements. Preferred • Experience with drilling equipment, electrification products, PowerTAP applications, power systems, rig controls, automation, or comparable industrial technologies. • Experience supporting customer-facing technical sales, product demonstrations, technical proposals, field trials, commissioning, and post-deployment adoption. • Experience with structured requirements, process mapping, dashboards, issue tracking, root-cause analysis, acceptance testing, or product lifecycle tools. • Experience leading or coordinating multi-disciplinary field teams, contractors, suppliers, and customer stakeholders. • Experience training customers and technical teams and mentoring less experienced engineers, coordinators, or field personnel. • Professional working proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is beneficial for international field support. #LI-SMO
