Job Summary A Machinist I safely and accurately operates a CNC or manual machine that fabricates tubes, rods and components used in hydraulic cylinders. Sets up and operates production equipment to manufacture, process, and assemble various commercial products and substances. Uses product specifications, blueprints, diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOP) to produce products. Monitors output for quality and conformance to required metrics. Prepares and maintains required records of production activities and reports any inconsistencies or equipment issues. Follows established guidelines for safe material handling and protective gear. This position is for 2nd shift, Monday - Thursday 4:00pm - 2:30am. ***A 3-6 week training period is required on 1st shift Monday - Thursday 5:30am - 4pm. *** Job Responsibilities A Machinist I is responsible for but not limited to the following: • Operates a CNC machine to fabricate tubes, rods, and components • Operates a manual machine for fabrication. • Reads mechanical drawings for components, tubes, rods and makes needed calculations • Interprets instructions and responds to management’s direction • Uses quality control equipment, such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers • Ensures preventive maintenance is conducted as necessary • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and attention to detail • Selects and uses appropriate equipment, supplies and tools • Maintains equipment daily • Follows safety and security policies and procedures and reports any unsafe conditions • Maintains a clean work environment • Adheres to Five “S” standards and procedures Job Requirements • High school diploma or GED Preferred • • Experience in a production environment • Programming experience Essential Job Function • Works autonomously and collaboratively in a fast past environment while maintaining a professional and upbeat attitude • Outstanding organizational, interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills • Applies basic mathematical principles such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and fractions • Stands for prolonged periods of time with or without reasonable accommodations • Performs repetitive motion work including hands, arms, and wrists 100% of the time with or without reasonable accommodations • Tolerates odors, fumes and airborne particles from machines and chemicals with or without reasonable accommodations • Tolerates various levels of heat with or without reasonable accommodations • Tolerates moderate to loud noise levels with or without reasonable accommodations • Lifts up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations • Walks throughout a large facility with or without reasonable accommodations • Works overtime and weekends based on business needs At Bailey International, we prioritize culture and seek candidates who embody our core values: Passion, Teamwork, Creativity, and Delivery.
