Job Summary The Concrete Mason performs all duties related to concrete application. Compensation $45.00 - $50.00 per hour. Responsibilities • Pours and finishes concrete • Performs flatwork construction • Constructs minor concrete structures • Installs reinforcing rebar or mesh wire to strengthen the concrete • Spreads, levels and smooths concrete using a trowel, float or screed • Molds expansion joints and edges • Monitors curing to ensure durable, smooth and uniform finish • Applies sealants or waterproofing to protect concrete Education High school diploma/GED Requirements/Qualifications • Class C driver’s license with clean driving record • Able to work both independently and as part of a team • Able to work in a safety-conscious manner • Experience working in a heavy civil construction environment • Physical requirements: bending, kneeling, lifting and carrying, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions Preferred: • Class A commercial driver’s license • Experience in traffic control • Ability to establish finish grades from survey data • Ability to complete Class 1 finish to structural concrete Conditions of Employment Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) registration/clearance as well as ongoing alcohol and drug testing.
