Lender-Side CRE Senior Attorney Opportunity (Staff Attorney) — Confidential Search Overview A small, sophisticated Commercial Real Estate practice (approximately 10 attorneys) is seeking a senior lender-side CRE attorney to join its New York, NY office on a hybrid basis. This is a permanent, staff-attorney opportunity for an attorney who can lead matters with minimal oversight, bring deep lender-representation experience, and take ownership of their own book of business. The ideal start date is as soon as possible, with an intended start target of October 26, 2026. Key Responsibilities • Lead lender-side commercial real estate matters from intake through closing. • Serve as primary deal counsel, managing day-to-day responsibility for transaction execution. • Develop, maintain, and grow a personal book of business in alignment with the practice. • Collaborate with a talented, knowledgeable CRE team to support and expand client relationships. • Contribute to a team-oriented environment through strong matter ownership and consistent client service. Qualifications • 8–10 years of experience in real estate law with substantial commercial real estate focus. • Robust lender-representation experience (required). • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of and grow a book of business (required). • Experience with real estate acquisitions is preferred. Billable Hours • Target: 1,600 hours annually. • This target is a goal, not a requirement. Compensation • Base salary range: $200,000–$350,000. • Additional compensation opportunities include bonus, origination credit, and profit sharing.
