Registered Nurse (RN) – Obstetrics / Labor & Delivery Job Description We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for a position in our Obstetrics and Labor & Delivery unit. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period while also caring for newborns in a combined unit setting. Unit Information • 13-week contract with day shifts (7a-7p) • 9-bed Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit with a dedicated operating room suite and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) on-site • 3-bed Nursery • Average monthly deliveries: 35 • Average outpatient and OB emergency department monthly volume: 100 • Collaboration with a team of 1 OB/Gyn, 2 Family Medicine Obstetricians, 2 Family Medicine Residents, and 1 Certified Nurse Midwife Key Responsibilities • Provide direct care to laboring patients and manage the delivery of newborns • Monitor and assess maternal and fetal health throughout the labor process • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective care plans • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and as appropriate • Educate patients and families regarding care plans and newborn care Qualifications • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure • Minimum of 2 years of labor and delivery experience • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, Stable, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring • C-section circulator experience is preferred but not required • Proficient with electronic medical records; experience with TruBridge is a plus Additional Information Qualified candidates will be provided with appropriate scrubs for both the labor and delivery and operating room settings.
