Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Unit Profile The 5 North MedSurg unit is designed to provide optimal patient care and a supportive environment for healthcare professionals. This unit is situated on the main floor and includes 30 patient beds. General Information • Staffing: • Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 5 RNs, 3 CNAs, and additional sitters as needed. • Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 5 RNs, 2 CNAs, and additional sitters as needed. • Patient Ratios: 1:6 • Equipment Used: Feeding pumps, IV pumps, lift equipment, Wound VAC, PCA, and oxygen. • Electronic Medical Record System: Meditech Qualifications Candidates must meet the following essential requirements: • Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification • Strong critical thinking skills Preferred qualifications include: • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification • Intravenous (IV) skills • Experience in orthopedic and kidney transplant care • Ability to manage central lines and Foley catheters • Experience in caring for patients with cardiac, renal transplant, dialysis, pulmonary, gastrointestinal, or diabetes conditions Typical Procedures Performed • Breathing treatments (by Respiratory Therapist) • Chronic wound care Personality Fit The ideal candidate will possess: • Adaptability to a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment • Ability to provide culturally competent and diverse care • Strong teamwork skills Dress Code • Scrub Color: • RNs – Royal Blue • CNAs – Green Awards & Recognition • Daisy Award • Bee Award • I-CARE Recognition • Employee of the Month/Year Additional Information Join a welcoming and supportive team with experienced staff members.
