Part-Time Retail Closing Manager / Shift Lead – Mighty Pet, Menominee MI
Lead the Pack at Mighty Pet! 🐾
Mighty Pet is a local, family-owned pet shop. No corporate big-box vibes, no endless red tape, just good people, great pets, and a store that feels like home. We're looking for an upbeat, dependable closing manager to run the show 2 evenings a week, plus the occasional Saturday.
If you love animals, thrive in a busy retail setting, and want a job where your coworkers actually feel like family, this might be your people.
At a glance
• Position: Closing Manager on Duty (Part-Time Retail Shift Lead)
• Schedule: 2–3 days a week, 10/12 – 7:15 PM, plus occasional Saturdays, 10/11 AM – 5:30 PM
• Bonus: No early mornings ☕
• Pay: $16-$18 based on experience
• Perks: Employee discount, Roth IRA match, and more tail wags than you can count
What you'll do
• Be the friendly face customers (and their pets) see when they walk in
• Run the register and handle cash like a pro
• Keep the sales floor stocked, tidy, and looking its best
• Lead and support the retail associates on your shift, and be the go-to person when questions pop up
• Close the store each night, including cash count, cleanup, and restocking, so tomorrow's crew walks into a store that's ready to roll
• Handle customer questions and hiccups with patience, a smile, and good judgment
• Keep the store clean, safe, and welcoming for visitors with two legs or four
• Once you've mastered the floor, learn to help the management team with inventory, ordering, and receiving
What you bring
• Retail, customer service, or team lead experience
• Comfort handling cash and using a POS system
• A friendly, calm, can-do attitude with customers and teammates
• Confidence to run the store on your own and make good calls on the fly
• Reliability and flexibility for 2–3 shifts a week plus some Saturdays
• A soft spot for animals (basically required)
• Ability to stay on your feet for a full shift and lift up to 40 lbs (hello, dog food and cat litter!)
Why you'll love it here
• Spend your shifts surrounded by pets. Need we say more?
• Small, supportive, family-owned team
• Employee discount on pet supplies after your first month
• Roth IRA match after your first year
• Flexible scheduling
• Room to grow into more management responsibilities
