Travel Med/Surg Ortho Trauma Nurse Location Plano, TX Job Description We are seeking a skilled Travel Med/Surg Ortho Trauma Nurse to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary experience and skills to provide high-quality care to patients in an Orthopedic Trauma specialty unit. Unit Information • Number of Beds: 36 • Patient Ratios: 1:5 (flexible to 1:6) • Type of Staff: • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 8 RNs, 3 CNAs • Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 8 RNs, 3 CNAs • Equipment: Telemetry • Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Meditech Qualifications Required Skills • Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical experience • BLS certification Preferred Skills • Experience with orthopedic and/or trauma patients Common Diagnoses/Procedures • Polytrauma patients • Non-surgical cervical fractures cleared by the spine • Ortho and trauma patients with downgraded traumatic brain injury (TBI) • Patients with no more than 3 drains • Burn downgrades • Administration of Heparin and Protonix drips Personality Fit The successful candidate will be a strong team player, capable of collaborating with others to ensure the best outcomes for our patients. Floating Requirements The nurse may float to all Medical-Surgical units as required. Dress Code Scrub Color/Attire: Royal Blue Unit Policies All staff are expected to arrive on the unit by 0645 for day shifts and 1845 for night shifts for huddle. Tardiness is subject to hospital policy guidelines. Weekend Commitment Four weekends per month are required.
