About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Account Director to join one of our growing pharma advertising partners. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in healthcare communications who can lead high-profile accounts, foster trusted client partnerships, and drive strategic brand initiatives in a fast-paced, creative environment.
As an Account Director, you will serve as the primary client lead, overseeing multi-channel campaigns across HCP, patient, and payer audiences. You’ll partner closely with cross-functional teams—creative, strategy, project management, and medical/scientific—to ensure that client objectives are met with excellence and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Client Leadership: Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a strategic partner and trusted advisor.
Strategic Oversight: Lead the development of brand strategy, positioning, and tactical planning across omnichannel platforms (digital, print, social, experiential, and video).
Team Management: Oversee and mentor account teams (Account Managers, Senior Account Executives, Coordinators) to ensure flawless execution and professional growth.
Business Growth: Identify opportunities to expand existing client business, drive organic growth, and participate in new business development efforts.
Financial Management: Manage budgets, forecasts, and scopes of work to ensure profitability and operational excellence.
Collaboration: Partner with internal stakeholders—creative directors, copy/art teams, strategists, and scientific experts—to deliver innovative solutions that drive measurable results.
Therapeutic Expertise: Stay current on client therapeutic areas, competitive landscapes, and industry trends to inform client recommendations and agency POVs.
Qualifications
7–10+ years of experience in healthcare advertising/communications (agency background required).
Proven track record of managing mid-to-large scale pharma accounts (launch experience a plus).
Deep understanding of HCP, patient, and payer marketing, including regulatory and compliance nuances (FDA/OPDP familiarity required).
Strong leadership skills with experience managing direct reports and cross-functional teams.
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to grow business and deliver innovative solutions.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field (MBA a plus).
