Full description

About the Role: As a Loan Specialist, you’ll be the first point of contact for Veterans and Active Duty Service Members navigating the VA loan process. You’ll work closely with Loan Officers, educating borrowers on the process, gathering documentation, and guiding them toward homeownership. This role is also a launchpad into a future Loan Officer career for those who are ambitious, energetic, and motivated. Many of our successful Loan Officers began as Loan Specialists, and we’ll set you up with a strong foundation while providing a guaranteed salary and the chance to learn the business. If you’re driven, customer-focused, and eager to grow, this could be the perfect fit. What You’ll Do: • Interview borrowers, obtain and verify documentation, and educate them on the loan process and product/service options. • Process borrower credit information through online approval systems and analyze for pre-approval or denial. • Make initial contact and respond promptly to customer inquiries via phone and email. • Inform borrowers of future loan documentation requests, including income and asset details. • Remain knowledgeable on company and industry guidelines and processes. • Provide exemplary customer service and support throughout the loan journey. • You'll spend much of your day communicating with borrowers by phone, email, and other communication tools. Business calls may be recorded and reviewed using AI-assisted technology to support coaching, quality assurance, compliance, training, and performance evaluation. These technologies may collect, store, and use voiceprints as part of that process. • Actively contribute to building a strong, collaborative team culture. What We’re Looking For: We want someone who is: • Ambitious, energetic, and internally motivated. • Outgoing, friendly, and customer-focused. • A strong communicator (verbal and written). • Driven to succeed in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment. • Comfortable with PCs and basic computer technologies. • Dedicated to delivering results with integrity while enhancing lives every day. Preferred but not required: Previous mortgage experience. Bonus points: If you’re a Veteran, we’d love to hear from you. Licensing & Growth Opportunities: • You don’t need to be licensed before applying, but you must be licensed prior to starting. • We reimburse licensing costs after 6 months of employment. • This role is designed to prepare you for future opportunities to transition into a Loan Officer position. About Us: At Veterans United, we’re all about helping Veterans and military families become homeowners. In just two decades, we’ve closed over 500,000 VA Loans and became the #1 VA lender for homebuyers in the nation. But success to us isn’t measured in numbers — it’s living our values daily: Be Passionate and Have Fun, Deliver Results with Integrity, and Enhance Lives Every Day. We provide friendly, knowledgeable service to military homebuyers and their families, and we’re committed to uplifting people and communities nationwide. If this role excites you, even if you don’t check every single box, don’t hesitate to apply. Bring your passion, drive, and commitment to making a difference — we’ll help you build something amazing. Interested? Apply today! The base pay range for this position is $18.00 to $20.00 per hour, but keep in mind that this is a commissioned role. Commissions will be based on the volume (dollar amount) of loans closed. We estimate that this position has an annual gross income potential of between $50,000 and $100,000, taking into account base pay, commissions, deductions, and bonuses. Of course, pay will vary and may be above or below the potential range based on various factors, such as experience and performance.
