Small, woman-owned transportation planning and services company in Fairfax, Virginia is looking for a Sr. Accountant/Controller with Unanet experience Hours/Schedule: 20-25 hours/week, flexible schedule Job Type:Contract to Hire Location Requirements: Hybrid, 1-2 days/week preferred in Fair Lakes office. Client will also consider virtual for candidates with extensive Unanet experience. Rate: $60-80/hour depending on experience Job Description: The Sr. Accountant/Controller will assist with the following: Responsibilities: • Manage financial analysis tools within the online accounting/time and expense reporting/project management system, Unanet, setting up financial dashboard, and standard reports • Manage and perform cost and schedule analysis to ensure present and future financial performance is consistent with forecasts • Track actual costs in relation to estimates, working with Project Leads and accounting staff to identify cost/schedule variances and determine impacts to the program. • Review/spot check invoices as required for accuracy and track costs against funded amounts and process • Support project efforts by overseeing/spot checking project efforts and ensuring timely additional funding is requested. • Assist in preparing all relevant information needed for contract, task order and subcontract modifications; assist (if required) in entering or checking adding information to our financial system. • Interface and work closely with Project Leads, Contracts/Subcontracts Administrators, Finance and Technical Personnel to understand customer requirements. • Spot check: Travel Authorizations, Expense Reports, Journal Entries, Voucher, and Labor Adjustments. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree • 10+ years of experience required • Government contracting financial background required • Experience with Unanet a must • Ability to read and understand contracts • Must have knowledge of multiple contract types (Cost Reimbursable, Fixed Price, Labor Hour) • Must have an understanding of cost & revenue reconciliation • Ability to use corporate tools to run reports, track costs, report impacts • Knowledge of AASHTO Uniform Audit and Accounting Guide for the development of overhead rates used on Federally funded projects and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) FlexProfessionals respects and seeks to empower each individual and support the diverse cultures, perspectives, skills, and experiences of its candidate network.
