Description
Douglas J Institutes is looking for a knowledgeable, inspiring Esthiology Educator to teach and mentor students as they prepare to enter the beauty industry. If you bring real skin expertise and love sharing it, we’d love to meet you.
This is a part-time position with the potential to grow into a full-time role.
What You’ll Do
As an Esthiology Educator, you’ll help students turn a passion for skin into real professional skill. With guidance from our Education Coach and Program Team Lead, you’ll teach, coach, and mentor future estheticians as they build the technique and confidence to launch their careers.
• Teach. Lead assigned esthiology classes covering skincare theory, treatments, techniques, products, and professional practices.
• Build the classroom. Create an engaging, inclusive classroom where students feel encouraged to ask questions, take on new challenges, and grow, while keeping activities organized and productive.
• Model safety. Set the standard for sanitation, safety, and infection control, and reinforce those practices with students throughout the day.
• Give feedback. Evaluate student work and give timely, meaningful feedback that helps each student keep improving.
• Coach. Develop students’ technical skills and professional confidence, serving as a mentor and role model as they begin their careers.
• Model professionalism. Demonstrate the ethical standards expected in the beauty industry, in the classroom and beyond.
• Guide compliance. Help students understand and follow school policies, procedures, and state regulations.
• Stay current. Keep up with skincare innovations, trends, products, and evolving industry standards.
Requirements
Required
• Esthetician license with hands-on industry experience
• Educator license in the State of Michigan (active license in place preferred)
• Availability for days, evenings, and some weekends
The kind of educator who thrives here
You love skincare, and you love the moment it clicks for someone else. You can demonstrate a technique with confidence and explain it so it actually makes sense. You bring patience and encouragement to students at every experience level.
You communicate well, stay organized, and manage your time like a pro. You handle confidential information with professionalism. And you do your best work in a fast-paced, professional school environment where your passion for beauty, education, and growth shows up every day.
Bonus points
Experience with Eminence, PCA, Sugarlash, Dulcelash, or Muse Beauty is a plus, but not required.
