Shift Time will be : 8:00 to 5:00 pm when Frederick County schools are in session or 10 am to 6 pm. A Candidate being able to do split shift with 7 am to 10 and 1pm to 6pm, will be preferred. RESPONSIBILITIES • Supervises students during all activities using Kiddie Academy Curriculum. • Ensure lesson plans are can be input in advance, materials are gathered on time. • Ensuring kids after school and before school have structured activities. • Must be able to drive 14 passenger school van and pick up children from near by elementary school. • Counsels students when social, academic, or adjustment problems arise • Guides students in planning their classroom activities • Ensures that the appearance, cleanliness, and safe environment of the classroom are appropriately maintained • Helps children with meal times and clean-up • Helps with all academy and classroom paperwork, such as daily notes, student accident reports, and attendance reports • Attends and participates in staff meetings, academy events, and parent meetings as requested • Ensures that all classroom and outdoor equipment are in good working condition and are used and maintained properly • Helps arrange the classroom into well-defined interest areas • Maintains family information board and other classroom bulletin boards • Communicates appropriate information to parents and maintains developmental profiles for children • Ensures that classroom medication schedule is followed • Helps plan and implement classroom events • Performs other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS • Must meet all requirements stipulated by the state for this position. Must be MSDE School Age Certified. • Pleasant/friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality • Highly professional and dependable • Must be able to interact appropriately with students of all ages and skill levels as well as with parents, coworkers, and management • Must be able to lift no less than 40 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the workday to at least waist high
