Registered Nurse (RN) Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with experience in a Medical Surgical setting. This position requires a dedicated professional to provide high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced environment. Shift Details • Shift: 12-hour Day Shifts • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Location Position available in Jackson, MS. Unit Information The unit consists of multiple Medical Surgical floors with varied patient capacity, providing care for a range of diagnoses including: • General Medical Surgical Patients • Congestive Heart Failure • Diabetes Management • Post Surgical Recovery • Trauma Care • Acute Kidney Injury • Sickle Cell Anemia • Respiratory Illnesses Nurse Responsibilities • Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5, with adjustments for higher acuity cases. • Monitor patients using telemetry equipment and central monitoring systems. • Titrate heparin drips as needed. • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including respiratory therapy for equipment management (CPAP, BiPAP, vents). • Participate in unit orientation and complete necessary training and paperwork in the initial hours of the first shift. • Float between different Medical Surgical units as needed, depending on patient acuity and staffing requirements. Qualifications • Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, with at least 6 months of recent Level 1 trauma experience, or experience in a facility with over 400 beds. • Proficient with EPIC electronic health record charting; no training will be provided. • BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred for Charge RNs. • Completion of at least one travel assignment is highly preferred. • Must be able to work every other weekend or at least 2 weekends per month, and participate in holiday rotations. Additional Requirements • Flu vaccination is mandatory, with medical exemptions requiring a doctor’s note. • FBI fingerprinting required, with options for both in-person and remote processing.
