The St. Louis Public Library’s Central Library is seeking a Youth Services Assistant. This position will staff the Youth Services desks at Central to provide excellent customer service and will assist with promoting youth services-led programs and initiatives. In this role, you will: • Ensure that youth and caregivers who visit the Library feel welcomed, have a positive experience, and find resources that meet their needs. • Promote and implement key Library programs like 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten and Summer Adventure. • Support with daily circulation and customer service tasks. You will need to be: • Friendly, outgoing, and able to work with children and their caregivers. • Comfortable providing support to children of all ages, abilities, and from all backgrounds. • Able to supervise children's and teens' use of the Library, including setting boundaries and redirecting children and teens as needed. You will need to have: • High school diploma or equivalent required. • Experience working with children in a professional setting • Strong communication, writing, and speaking skills • Comfort with using and learning new technology as the Library continues to evolve.
