Lead the Shift. Drive Safety. Deliver Results.
At Verdant Specialty Solutions, we’re not just running production—we’re building a culture where safety, accountability, and execution come together on every shift.
We are seeking a Production Supervisor to lead day-to-day plant operations for an assigned shift, managing a team of operators while ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This is a hands-on leadership role where success is measured by your presence on the floor, your ability to develop your team, and how effectively you execute the production plan.
If you are a strong, accountable leader who can drive performance, reinforce standards, and keep operations moving safely and efficiently—we want to hear from you.
Why This Role Stands Out
• Direct leadership of plant operations on an active production shift
• High visibility role with impact on safety, quality, and output

What You’ll Do
Lead Safe & Efficient Operations
• Direct daily production activities for an assigned shift
• Ensure compliance with HSSE policies, procedures, and permit systems

Drive Team Performance & Accountability
• Set clear expectations for performance and behavior
• Hold team members accountable through coaching and corrective action
• Assess employee skills through observation and engagement
• Develop team capability through training and real-time coaching
Execute the Production Plan
• Communicate and drive execution of the daily production plan
• Engage operators for feedback and continuous improvement ideas
• Ensure proper documentation in inventory and production systems
Own Shift Readiness & Communication
• Prepare incoming shifts for success through clear communication
• Ensure effective shift handoffs and information transfer
• Maintain strong housekeeping and adherence to standard work practices
Support Maintenance & Site Operations
• Issue work permits and coordinate maintenance activities
• Enter work notifications as required
• Serve as Emergency Coordinator during off-shifts
What We’re Looking For
• Strong leadership presence with ability to manage and influence hourly workforce
• Ability to hold employees accountable while developing team capability
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills across all levels
• Ability to manage conflict and drive cooperation across teams
• Organized, adaptable, and able to manage changing priorities
• Practical problem-solving skills in a plant environment
What You Bring

• Technical degree preferred (2–4 year), or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience
• Chemical industry and/or supervisory experience strongly preferred
• Ability to troubleshoot plant issues using practical technical knowledge
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn new systems
• Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift including nights and weekends
Work Environment
Based on-site at University Park, IL manufacturing facility
• Active production environment with hands-on leadership expectations
• 12-hour rotating shift schedule including nights and weekends
Why You’ll Love It Here
• Competitive compensation and benefits
• Opportunity to lead and develop a production team
• Strong culture of safety, accountability, and performance
• High-impact role supporting critical plant operations
• Collaborative environment where leadership is visible and valued
