Nurse Director of Perioperative Services Overview • Lead perioperative services to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care and operational excellence. • Oversee staffing, forecasting, planning, and budget monitoring for surgical services. • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. • Implement evidence-based practices to advance patient safety and quality outcomes. • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards through policy development. • Lead strategies to enhance patient experience and achieve optimal outcomes. • Collaborate with leaders to improve customer satisfaction and service delivery. • Support talent development by coaching, training, and engaging employees. • Drive operational efficiency and patient throughput through effective planning. Nurse Director of Perioperative Services Key Responsibilities & Duties • Manage surgical services operations, including 13 ORs, 2 endo suites, and 3 XI robots. • Ensure adherence to clinical standards and equipment maintenance schedules. • Lead efforts to achieve accreditation and compliance with regulatory standards. • Develop and implement policies to ensure efficient patient care delivery. • Collaborate with managers and teams to optimize surgical service performance. • Monitor and forecast surgical volume to ensure resource availability. • Provide leadership to enhance patient satisfaction and experience. • Support talent acquisition, development, and retention within the department. • Report directly to the COO and oversee 120 FTEs and 3 managers. Nurse Director of Perioperative Services Job Requirements • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree preferred. • Minimum of 3 years of experience in surgical services leadership; 5 years preferred. • Proven expertise in managing perioperative services in a Level II Trauma setting. • Strong knowledge of regulatory standards and evidence-based practices. • Experience with operational planning, budgeting, and staff management. • Ability to lead teams and drive strategic initiatives to improve outcomes. • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams. • Commitment to enhancing patient experience and service quality. • Familiarity with advanced surgical technologies, including robotic systems.
