Senior Cost Accountant Key Responsibilities & Duties • Review and validate weekly inventory transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance. • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and support inventory roll-forwards and subledger tie-outs. • Assist in the month-end close process, contributing to timely financial reporting. • Conduct cost of goods sold analysis to identify opportunities for cost optimization. • Analyze cost and overhead data to support strategic financial planning. • Maintain inventory controls and schedules, ensuring operational efficiency. • Provide audit support, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance cost accounting processes. Senior Cost Accountant Job Requirements • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. • Minimum of 8 years of experience, with a preference for 10 years in cost accounting. • Strong background in manufacturing, ideally in building materials or similar industries. • Proficiency in actual costing methodologies and full manufacturing process understanding. • Experience with inventory management and financial reconciliation processes. • Ability to analyze cost and overhead data to support strategic decisions. • Familiarity with audit processes and compliance standards. • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with senior leadership.
