Title: Senior Commercial Relationship Manager
Location: Greater Bay Area, CA (Flexible Territory)
Position Overview
A growing community bank in the Bay Area is seeking a Commercial Relationship Manager to join its expanding team. This bank has made meaningful changes to compensation, territory flexibility, and how lenders are supported, creating a true production-focused, relationship-driven environment. This is a strong opportunity for a lender who wants more autonomy, real earnings potential, and the ability to win business without being boxed in.
Key Responsibilities:
• Originate new commercial banking relationships across C&I and/or CRE
• Develop and grow a portfolio of loan and deposit relationships
• Actively prospect and build a pipeline through COIs and market presence
• Structure deals in partnership with credit to meet client needs
• Maintain and deepen client relationships for long-term growth
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure strong execution and client experience
What They’re Looking For:
• Proven experience as a Commercial Relationship Manager or Business Development Officer
• Track record of production or clear ability to generate new business (somewhere in the $10MM-$25MM range)
• Experience in C&I and/or CRE lending
• Existing book of business or strong COI network preferred
• Relationship-driven mindset (not purely transactional)
• Ability to balance credit quality with business development
Performance Expectations:
• Targeting approximately $10MM – $20MM in annual loan production (or strong trajectory toward that level)
• Ability to bring or quickly develop relationships that include both loans and deposits
Opportunity Highlights:
• Compensation upside is real – Quarterly incentives & Annual bonus
• Open territory – Full Bay Area, East Bay and into the Sierra foothills
• Flexibility to pursue business wherever relationships/referrals/contacts exist
• Relationship-driven culture – Focus on full client relationships, not just transactions
• Ability to structure deals to win
• Strong internal support – Dedicated Portfolio Managers handle underwriting and portfolio management
• Allows RMs to stay focused on production
• Flexibility – Typically 1–2 days in-office per week
• Flexibility tied to performance
Why This Opportunity:
• Compensation structure has been meaningfully upgraded
• Territory is no longer restrictive
• Leadership is investing in growth and production
• Proven internal success with high-performing lenders
• Opportunity to operate with autonomy while still having strong support
