Job Title Psychiatrist Organization Description A mission-driven community health organization in the greater San Diego region is seeking a Board-Certified Psychiatrist to join an integrated care team serving both Native American and surrounding community populations. This organization is deeply committed to continuity of care, culturally responsive treatment, and improving access to behavioral health services for underserved communities. Location Eastern San Diego County, California Practice includes care across two clinic locations within the region. Opening Statement I am recruiting on behalf of a well-established community health organization seeking a Psychiatrist who values relationship-based care, interdisciplinary collaboration, and long-term community impact. This opportunity may appeal to providers who are looking for a sustainable outpatient practice with low daily volume, strong clinical support, and the ability to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children, adolescents, adults, and families. The organization places a strong emphasis on provider retention and is seeking someone interested in becoming a long-term part of the community. Why Providers Are Interested • Outpatient-only psychiatry practice • Approximately 7 patients per day • 32-hour work week option available • Integrated care model with close collaboration between psychiatry, primary care, and behavioral health • Dedicated Medical Assistant and administrative support • Onsite therapists, crisis clinicians, and pharmacy services • Opportunity to expand access to child and adolescent psychiatry services • Trauma-informed and culturally responsive care environment • AI-assisted documentation tools and Dragon Dictation available • Strong onboarding and leadership support • Sign-on and relocation assistance available The Practice This psychiatrist will provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing treatment for a broad range of behavioral health conditions, including: • ADHD • Depression • Anxiety disorders • Trauma and domestic violence-related mental health concerns • Co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders The organization has a significant need for providers who are comfortable working with children and adolescents. While flexibility exists regarding patient age ranges, candidates with pediatric and adolescent psychiatry experience will be highly valued. Providers work within a collaborative environment that includes: • Behavioral health therapists • Crisis intervention staff • Primary care providers • Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) services • Case management and supportive services The practice utilizes an integrated team approach with regular case consultation and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Compensation and Benefits Compensation • $232,332.05-$447,210 annually (based on a 40-hour work week) • Compensation adjusted based on schedule, experience, and qualifications Additional Incentives • $30,000 sign-on bonus • $5,000 relocation assistance for eligible candidates relocating from outside the area Practice Support • Dedicated Medical Assistant • Government vehicle and fuel support for travel between clinic sites • Structured onboarding program • AI-enabled documentation tools and Dragon Dictation Qualifications • Board-Certified Psychiatrist • MD or DO • Active California medical license without restrictions • Active California DEA registration • Valid California driver’s license • Ability to obtain credentialing and maintain insurability requirements The organization cannot consider: • Visa sponsorship candidates • J-1 or H-1B candidates • Locum providers seeking temporary assignments • Candidates with malpractice claims history You’ll Thrive Here If You • Are motivated by mission and service, have a vision for the future of where you practice • Value continuity of care and long-term patient relationships • Enjoy working with underserved populations • Approach care with humility, curiosity, and cultural sensitivity • Are interested in learning from patients and communities with experiences different from your own • Believe in collaborative treatment planning and shared decision-making • Appreciate integrated care and interdisciplinary teamwork • Are looking for a long-term professional home rather than a short-term career move About the Opportunity This organization serves a diverse patient population, including Native American communities and residents throughout the surrounding region. Providers are encouraged to practice evidence-based medicine while respecting cultural traditions, community values, and individual healing preferences. Leadership consistently emphasizes trust-building, trauma-informed care, and minimizing provider turnover. Patients often develop strong relationships with their providers and value consistency in their care teams. For psychiatrists seeking a balanced outpatient schedule, meaningful community impact, strong clinical support, and the opportunity to develop lasting patient relationships, this may be a particularly rewarding practice opportunity.
