From software to hardware our teams are shaping the future of world-leading hyperscale computing, with key teams working on the development of our TPUs, Vertex AI for Google Cloud, Google Global Networking, Data Center operations, systems research, and much more. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities • Manage material Purchase Order (PO) CapEx versus actual consumption to optimize capital deployment, establish financial policies, and partner with Corporate Finance on unit cost modeling. • Translate complex physical constraints into multi-year infrastructure roadmaps and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models to evaluate strategic investment architectures and large-scale operational tradeoffs. • Resolve cost-related escalations and influence the long-term technical direction across internal data center fabrics, Data Center Interconnect (DCI), and WAN backbone expansion. • Analyze the end-to-end supply chain to identify risks and execute commercial strategies, including Long-Term Agreements and capacity reservations, to guarantee supply continuity for critical commodities. • Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware engineering, strategic sourcing, and capacity planning to ensure global supply chain readiness and cultivate deep commercial supplier partnerships. Minimum qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, a related technical or analytical field, or equivalent practical experience. • 8 years of experience in network engineering, systems engineering, technical infrastructure program deployment, or global supply chain financial strategy within technology hardware ecosystems. • Experience in a technical advisory or business operations capacity translating engineering limits into structured technical-commercial roadmaps. • Experience building Return on Investment (ROI) models, cost-benefit analyses, capital planning frameworks, and TCO structures. Preferred qualifications: • Master's degree in a technical or engineering field, or a Master of Business Administration (MBA). • Experience contributing to architectural direction and financial oversight across data center fabrics, Data Center Interconnect (DCI), WAN backbone expansion, and multi-cloud interconnect environments. • Experience with merchant networking silicon, performance binning, and vendor power/performance specifications. • Experience managing business strategy, Profit and Loss (P&L) alignment, or driving capital-intensive efficiency and risk-mitigation initiatives for an enterprise product line. • Experience with financial or strategic sourcing of supply chains for optical components, fiber optics, semiconductors, and related critical sub-tier commodities.
