POSITION DESCRIPTION This is a skilled level position based at the Taylor Shellfish Fabrication Shop in Shelton, WA and will be responsible for cutting and fitting of parts according to drawings, welding aluminum, steel and stainless alloys DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Involved in the construction and repair of various equipment built and operated by Taylor Shellfish Lay out, position, align, and fit components together using hand tools and tables Bolts, clamps, tacks welds parts to secure in position for welding according to blueprints, engineering sketches and welding procedures specifications Repairs products and equipment by dismantling, cutting, gouging, grinding, straightening, reshaping, and or re-welding as needed Must always follow all safety measured before welding Help in keeping the shop a safe and efficient work area Primary Objectives Professional conduct with all Taylor Shellfish employees and the public Perform quality work in an efficient manner Demonstrate a commitment to all facets of the role, working towards the achievement of the company goals and objectives Awareness and compliance of company policies and procedures Promote and maintain a positive, efficient, and cohesive work environment   Qualifications: Required Knowledge, Skills and abilities Must possess and maintain a valid Washington’s Driver’s license with clean driving record Ability to make quality welds using MIG, TIG, FCAW, and SMAW processes on Aluminum, Mild and High Carbon Steels and Stainless Steels Must be able to read and understand; technical manuals, standard operating procedures, schematics and measuring tapes Must supply personal tools Regular, Reliable, predictable attendance required Ability to work independently at time with little direction Strong and sound decision-making skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Well organized and detail orientated Must maintain positive company morale Ability to use computers well enough for the job Daily work order updates through Mpulse Education, Experience, Job & Safety Requirements Must be 21 Years or older 3 years minimum welding and fabrication experience preferred Aluminum fabrication or boat building experience preferred Formal training from an accredited technical college or trade school or completion of an equivalent multi-year apprenticeship program preferred but not required Must complete and maintain in house forklift, tractor, First Aid, Safety and HR Trainings Familiarity with Office 365 Apps, Mpulse C.M.M.S, E Drawings Plus Physical Demands Ability to sit, stand and/or walk on uneven ground up to 16 hours per day Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, twist, and squat 100% of the time Ability to lift to 75lbs (Occasionally required to exert up to 125lbs or force) The vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus Must be able to speak and hear well enough to communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and managers Must be able to use hands for repetitive simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation Must have agility and balance to safely climb on machines, boats, etc.   BENEFITS Here at Taylor Shellfish we offer health insurance for the employee and their family with incredibly low premium costs and annual deductibles.
