We are looking for a Food Service Culinarian to oversee and initiate duties related to food service. Meet all regulatory requirements, health standards, and maintain quality food service. Assist in maintaining a positive physical and social environment for the residents.      DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, (Including but not limited to):       Meal Preparation Prepare meals according to planned menus Ensure all foods and supplies are readily available for next meals.  Maintain state required dietary records   Maintain Supplies  Record the storage of incoming food and supplies, as needed.  Maintain kitchenware and equipment   Residents’ Rights Functions Ensure compliance and understanding of all regulations regarding patients’ rights at all times   Other Duties  Attend meetings and/or training sessions as required and in accordance with state guidelines Maintain a safe and sanitary environment; ensure food service staff are following health inspection regulations Function as part of the team Participate in cleaning duties related to kitchen, pantry and refrigeration  Assist coworkers/volunteers with other duties as needed.  Perform other duties as assigned    What We Offer: A rewarding and fulfilling career with a company that values your contributions Competitive salary and generous paid time off, including 18 vacation days, 10 sick days, and 8 paid holidays in your first year of employment with HOC.  Educational assistance to pursue professional development, additional certifications and degree programs Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage, company-paid Short Term Disability and Life Insurance, and available accident and critical illness coverage.  Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience working with Food Service, Culinary Arts, or related field.  1 – 3 years’ experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or service environment preferred Serv-Safe certification is required Desire to interact with and fulfill the culinary needs of seniors Knowledge of cooking and preparing foods Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.   Ability to work in an environment conducive to caring for patients without posing a substantial safety or health threat to self or others Demonstrate commitment to providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.  Proactive problem solving skills.  Pleasant, friendly, and helpful at all times ensuring proper and timely service      REQUIREMENTS Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and move patients safely.     Current Maryland driver’s license and a clean driving record.  Reliable transportation a must.   Compliant with health screening and vaccination requirements of organization and position, including TB screening and Influenza vaccination annually.   At Hospice of the Chesapeake, we create meaningful experiences for those in the communities we serve who are experiencing serious advanced illness and loss.
