The Medical Receptionist provides customer service and clerical support within a fast paced department. A certification in Clinical Medical Assisting for the purpose of order entries is preferred. • Schedules and relays information to patients for laboratory tests, medical examination, and consultations • Informs patients of cots of care being provided, and guides them to appropriate resources for further information, guidance, or assistance. • May assist in patient and family education by providing educational material and general health information to patients and family members. • Answers telephones, screens callers, and relays messages. • Maintains calendar and schedules return appointments. • Electronic access to email, HER, calendars, and other basic office support software. • Uses automated systems to access, enter, and edit patient information. • Other duties as assigned/necessary.
