Full description

Description The Opportunity Are you a seasoned technical facility planner who thrives on future-forward and innovative problem-solving? The High-Precision Asset Strategist is a pivotal position in the growth of our Science + Technology capabilities. Operating at the high-stakes intersection of leading-edge business strategy, real estate asset planning, and heavily regulated technical environments, this role is explicitly designed for a technical advisor who can guide elite scientists, C-suite executives, and site leaders. This is an entrepreneurial, high-influence position. You will not just be applying lab planning best practices; you will be the macro-level master planner shaping multi-million dollar capital assets—ranging from 50-acre life science campuses to secure aerospace facilities and high-hazard chemical R&D environments. Working in partnership with our Science + Technology Market Leader, you will drive business development, lead client visioning workshops, and develop future-tech environments where early-stage R&D scales into mission-critical commercial production. Impact & Responsibilities · Trusted Advisor: Act as a critical differentiator in winning work, cultivating executive relationships, and position the firm as an elite consulting partner across Life Sciences, Defense/Aerospace, Advanced Materials, and Academic Research. · Macro-Scale Strategic Planner: Lead early-phase feasibility, asset repositioning, and campus master planning. You will assess physical conditions, analyze workflows, and align capital investment with client business objectives. · High-Precision Facility Specialist: Serve as the qualified subject-matter expert on multidisciplinary facility planning and design teams. Translate complex scientific requirements, functional workflows, and high-hazard constraints into safe, highly functional building programs. · Workflow & Ecosystem Optimization: Leverage Lean and Six Sigma mindsets to design environments around evolving science and technology—integrating automation, instrumentation, material throughput modeling, and human experience into an optimized spatial layout. · Regulatory Compliance: Provide bulletproof guidance on complex regulatory frameworks, including cGMP validation, NIH design guidelines, OSHA, ISO standards, and high-hazard NFPA Control Area / Maximum Allowable Quantity (MAQ) calculations. Requirements The Blueprint of an Ideal Candidate We are looking for a rare blend of technical expertise in precision environments and a leader with agile, future-forward ideas. You might currently work at an AEC firm, or you might be a high-performing Lab Manager, Director of Facilities, or Site Lead at a major pharmaceutical, defense, or industrial company looking to scale your impact across multiple sectors. • Education: Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Engineering, Science, or a related technical field. • Experience: 10–15 years of related experience in R&D laboratory operations, advanced manufacturing engineering, or specialized planning within an AEC firm. Must include at least 7 years of project management or team leadership experience. • Cross-Sector Technical Fluency: Proven experience navigating the rigorous technical criteria of physical/chemical sciences, biologics, containment, materials management, and automated production spaces. • Travel: Up to 50% • Commanding Presence: Exceptional written, verbal, and graphic communication skills. You must be comfortable leading interactive programming workshops and delivering compelling presentations to client leaders and at industry conferences. • Mindset: A mentor-coach who thrives in an integrated, sustainable, and collaborative culture, with a commitment to developing long-term relationships and willingness to travel to support project delivery and business development pursuits. Why Join Us? This role is built for a difference-maker. At our growing and respected firm, we provide the platform, the integrated team, and the market momentum; you bring the vision and technical authority. Together, we will redefine what it means to create high-precision environments across exciting new frontiers.
