Job Summary
The Customer Service organization currently relies heavily on tribal knowledge, manual onboarding, and multiple sources of customer-specific information. These inefficiencies increase training time, create dependency on experienced team members, and can delay decision-making when customer-specific information is needed.
A summer intern would provide dedicated project support to build foundational tools that improve onboarding effectiveness, knowledge retention, operational efficiency, and cross-functional collaboration.
Develop an AI-powered onboarding and training assistant that serves as a self-service resource for new Customer Service employees.
New hires frequently require assistance navigating processes, systems, terminology, escalation paths, and customer-specific requirements. This often pulls experienced team members away from daily responsibilities and creates inconsistencies in training.
The intern will collaborate with Customer Service, Sales, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather and organize information, document processes, and configure and test an AI solution using available tools.
Students seeking degrees in Operations Management, Management Information Systems/Business Information Systems, though other students are also encouraged to apply if they have an interest in streamlining workflow and familiarity with SharePoint and training and developing AI.
Job Responsibilities
• Document common customer service processes and procedures.
• Identify frequently asked questions from new hires.
• Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather knowledge content.
• Develop an AI agent capable of:
• Answering common onboarding and process-related questions.
• Providing links to supporting documentation.
• Guiding employees to the appropriate process owner or SME.
• Create and maintain a skills matrix identifying team experts by subject area.
• Establish a governance process for ongoing content maintenance and updates.
• Key Deliverables
• Customer Service AI Training Agent
• Process Knowledge Repository
• SME Skills Matrix
• AI Governance and Maintenance Process
• User Guide and Training Materials
• SharePoint development and administration
• Process design
• Information architecture
• Stakeholder management
• Documentation and training
Complete additional duties based on the needs of the assigned location.
