In this role, you will work in collaboration with team members to complete repairs and preventative maintenance on various refrigeration and HVAC equipment while following proper safety protocol. What will I do? • Perform basic repairs and preventive maintenance on refrigeration and HVAC equipment • Identify and diagnose issues with refrigeration and HVAC controls systems; repair self-contained cases and repair rooftop HVAC units of all types; demonstrate knowledge of secondary glycol racked systems as well as conventional DX racked systems • Work effectively with a team, assisting other personnel as necessary to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and customers; determine best practices for repair work and assess downtime with store personnel • Create and maintain preventative maintenance records on all equipment serviced; maintain truck inventory • Deliver incredible service to both internal and external customers, and maintain Wegmans high standards of quality and food & human safety procedures Qualifications: • 5 or more years related work experience • Technical training through apprenticeship, RSES, trade school, or equivalent work experience • EPA Universal Certification • Proficient with the use of a laptop computer, possessing the ability to maintain, troubleshoot and operate building management systems, on board control systems, and manufacturer’s PLC based control systems • Sound mechanical ability, as well as knowledge of welding and plumbing • Supermarket/restaurant related equipment experience, including knowledge of applicable codes, regulations and operating standards is preferred • Independent ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical systems is preferred At Wegmans, we’ve always believed we can achieve our goals only if we first fulfill the needs of our people.
