Overview 📍 Location: Jacksonville, FL 🕒 FTE: Per Diem (.01 FTE) 🗓️ Shift: Variable The Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process and standards of practice for a professional nurse. The RN is expected to perform all staff nurse activities and function as charge nurse when assigned. The RN maintains overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients, even though some activities/tasks may be delegated to Technical Nurses, Patient Care Associates, and/or Sitters. Assignments are performed appropriately to age and developmental level of patients being served. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Education • Associate’s Degree required • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing • BSN must be obtained from an accredited school of nursing within three (3) years of hire or transfer for applicable new hires • Employees hired/transferred between August 1, 2013, and June 13, 2017, follow the requirements outlined in their offer letter/job description • Employees hired/transferred prior to August 1, 2013, are grandfathered • BSN preferred Required Skills • Demonstrates teamwork and professional communication with members of the healthcare team • Ability to learn and apply computer technologies and procedures related to patient care delivery Licensure & Certifications • Florida RN license or confirmation of eligibility for licensure upon receipt of SSN • BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required on the first day of employment ACLS – Required at Hire or Transfer • Cardiac Holding Area (730501) • CVICU (730400) • MICU (700400) • PICU (660401) • North Pre-Op/PACU (633680) • Trauma Center (713100) ACLS – Required Within 6 Months • 3 ICU-North (620480) • 5N CCU (730301) • Cardiac Rehab (733100) • Non-Invasive Cardiology North (733080) • Non-Invasive Cardiac Lab (733000) • Progressive RNs in Intensive Care Units PALS – Required Within 6 Months • PICU (660401) • Trauma Center (713100) Additional Certification Requirements • Fellowship RNs: ACLS, PALS and NRP within 6 months when required by the department • Psych Unit: CPI training within 90 days and annually thereafter • Professional certification preferred Experience • Less than one year of related experience required • One (1) year of clinical experience preferred
