Registered Nurse (RN) – CVICU General Information This position is located in Nashville, TN. Unit Specifics • Number of Beds: 16 • Patient Ratios: 1:2, 1:1 for certain device patients • Staffing Description: Free-floating charge nurse available to assist staff; unit secretary and Administrative Care Tech available Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM; Student Nurse Externs on variable shifts to assist nurses with tech duties. • Equipment Used: Phillips bedside telemetry monitors, Hill-Rom beds, Alaris IV pumps • Documentation System: Meditech • Scheduling Requirements: 2 weekends per month, 1 summer holiday (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day), and 2 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day) • Floating Policy: Employees may float as needed, primarily to other ICUs but may include other floors. • Patient Experience Requirements: None specifically required Certifications Required • ACLS • BLS Requested Skill Set • Core Qualifications: Strong critical care experience required, including CVICU experience. • Advanced Skills: Experience with PA catheter and hemodynamic monitoring; preferred experience with IABP, Impella, and CRRT. Procedures Performed on Unit • Care for immediate post-operative cardiac surgery patients, including ECMO, Centrimags, and HM3 LVADS. • Perform central line insertion, Swan insertion, intubations, and other critical care procedures. Dress Code Scrubs in black, red, or galaxy blue, along with scrub jackets or vests only.
