Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg Position Overview The Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in providing quality patient care for individuals recovering from surgery, illness, or injury. This role involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the safety and comfort of patients during their hospital stay. Key Responsibilities • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans. • Administer medications and treatments per physician orders. • Monitor and document patient progress and response to treatment. • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes. • Educate patients and their families on health management post-discharge. • Maintain patient safety and adhere to infection control protocols. • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs. Qualifications • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. • Minimum of one year of Med/Surg experience preferred. • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is a plus. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
