Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical/Neuro Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in the Medical Surgical/Neuro specialty. This role requires providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment while ensuring effective prioritization and multitasking abilities. Unit Information • Number of Beds: 20 • Patient Ratios: 6:1 • Unit Staffing Description: Tech support available on day and night shifts, with a unit secretary from 7 AM to 7 PM. • Type of Equipment: IV Pumps, Telemetry, SCDs, Continuous Pulse Ox Machines, Feeding Pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, iMobile communication technology. • Documentation System: Meditech. Scheduling Requirements • 3 shifts of 12 hours per week. • 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule. Floating Policy Contract labor staff will be the first to float. In cases of multiple contract labor staff scheduled, rotation will determine floating assignments. Patient Experience Requirements The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention and compassion in patient care, providing bedside shift reports, fostering personal connections with patients, and involving patients and their families in their individualized care plans. Qualifications • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license. • BLS certification. • Experience in Medical Surgical nursing. • Ability to prioritize care and multitask effectively. • Competency in starting IVs, basic wound care, and maintaining surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes. Dress Code Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms) are required.
